Month of Love visit 1 – Siyaphumula Elderly Daycare – Ntshongweni – 7.2.18

The first of our “Month of Love” today was to bless 40 Gogos and Mkulu’s, highlighted to us by The Christian Social Services, at Siyaphumula Elderly Daycare in rural Ntshongweni. How incredible that a bit of time, chatter, cake and small token of love can make such a big impact in someone’s life! What a special community program! The elderly attend this Daycare for companionship, exercise, porridge and a hot meal each day as well as sewing and crafts which they then sell to raise extra funds for their meals which are prepared for them in a kitchen container that was donated last year by the Kloof Methodist Church. Imagine their joy when each Gogo was unexpectedly gifted with a beautiful handmade care package lovingly made by the “Knitting with Love” group and filled with knitted blankets, beanies, bed socks, toiletries and treats! Our most humble and grateful thanks to Joy Wellbeloved and your ladies that donated these beautiful gifts and to our volunteer team that joined us yesterday at storage to pack and prepare and add in some extra treats and to the generous community hearts that have been pledging there R20.
