What a super way to spend a Saturday morning - with some of our incredible team members and an amazing crew of volunteers at storage this morning packing over 250 Gogo bags for our project to Inchanga next week. As its our birthday month, Cindy brought some champers, we had lucky draws, lots of laughter, great music and plenty of fun! A huge thanks to all that helped out today #MakingADifference and #SpreadingLove.
Today, we partnered with some of the amazing team members from Nation Changers at CityHill Hillcrest and visited two of the creches they serve with our Love to Read campaign. What an incredibly humbling morning! These creches are so bare yet the children are so happy and loved despite the makeshift structures and lack of educational material. How beautiful to see their faces light up when our volunteers had finished packing the bookcases with all the books and toys and puzzles donated and not to mention the HUGE smiles
What a hilarious show with Mamba Republic, we have not laughed so hard in so long. We are so grateful to The Caxton Group for partnering with us again this year for an exceptional annual event! Each guest was given a goody bag filled to the brim and a lovely Compass Cares Wildlife calendar. Stunning Mystery prizes and raffle tickets and even a silent auction was in hand. All funds raised from this event will go towards our upcoming project, the"Buy-a-Brick" campaign, which will be launching very soon -

Throughout the April and May, we have visited over 20 creches with our Love to Read campaign, partnering with local NGO’s to help to make a difference to these little creches in the communities they serve. This campaign has been incredible to see the growth from what started as an idea to take 2nd handbooks into a handful of creches, turning into so much more: creating job employment for a young deaf gentleman who turned old pallets into the most incredible bookcases and using wood meant for landfill; children
An incredibly special morning with some beautiful old souls at Tafta John Dunn earlier today! Not only did we have a wonderful group of volunteers join us to bless and interact with the residents at John Dunn for the Easter Tea we had arranged today at the Home as part of our 'Love to Read' campaign, but we also had the pleasure of some of the Dezzo Team join us, to unveil the beautiful mural they designed and donated to brighten the dining hall for the all the residents!

Our Chairlady, Cindy Norcott, thought up this project - "Lucky Feet" - as a fun way to bless these little learners from the KwaNgcolosi community with some of the school shoes we had left over from our Choose Your Shoes campaign end of last year AND donated by the AAAS team. Why "Lucky Feet"? These school shoes were in SPECIFIC sizes ranging from tiny size 7
What an incredible afternoon with some amazing young community hearts as the Grade 4's from Highbury Preparatory School joined us in EMBO to bless and serve the Gogos and Mkulu's! Each Thursday, Carol Shroeder, from Twinkle Star, hosts up to 100 Gogo's and Mkulu's and serves them a delicious and nutritious home cooked stew and samp and beans each week and every so often we pop in with blessings for these elderly folk! Today was a special treat for them as this beautiful group of youngsters filled these Gogo's
Gogos (isiZulu) grandmothers/elderly women. At the Robin Hood Foundation, we have such respect for the Gogo's in our communities. These women are the matriarch's in their community, women of strength, great faith and courage. Women that serve their families and communities and ask for nothing in return. Today, we hosted 30 of these Gogo's - as highlighted to us by the Christian Social Services - at an elegant High Tea hosted by the Pot and Kettle in Botha's Hill. The aim of the morning was to honour and salute

For the month of February, we are trying to get out and spread love and blessings in our communities and what a way to start with this beautiful visit to Victory Old Age Home in Malvern this morning! This home was highlighted to us by a knitting group in Pinetown. As a private home with little to no funding, the bulk of the 50 residents pensions goes toward their rent, which leaves little monies left over for food, toiletries and especially any luxuries! Today, joined by an amazing team
Our most grateful thanks to all who contributed to our 2016 Bless-a-Granny campaign which enabled us to visit and bless over 2000 grannies and grandpas in local Old Age homes in our Community!
